Abstract

The objective of this article was to analyze some of the problems that have arisen in border areas with a focus on Norte de Santander over time. A brief description was made of some of the world's major borders and the management that governments apply to each of them to ensure that they function correctly, as well as the functioning of some aspects of the borders of Mexico, the United States and Europe. Focused on the national territory and personal experiences, this article emphasizes the border of Colombia and Venezuela; which have been the moments of surplus and deficit that have occurred, also the management that governments have used through border policies, benefiting or harming the population.
