Abstract

This article aims to identify competitiveness strategies for Cúcuta as a sustainable city and community,
implementing the Sustainable Development Goals SDG 11, since it is important to create a vision in which,
according to estimates, from here to 2030 can increase inclusive, sustainable urbanization and the ability to
participate, plan and manage all people in all countries in improving competitiveness , which leads to reiterate
strategies as a common effort and to what will also reduce the adverse consequences of natural disasters, as
well as the impact of cities on the environment of cities per capita . Sustainable competitiveness is a complex
concept that goes beyond economic convenience. Capturing factors that contribute to the benefit of societies
for sustainable prosperity and high quality growth, trying not only to protect the performance of companies
and countries, but also to ensure the maximum capacity of future generations to meet their own needs. As a
result, it was possible to know how the city of Cúcuta faces a general context of strategic deficiencies in border
condition that has positioned it as the largest recipient of migrants in the department and Venezuelan migrants,
which in turn has meant a setback in the population dynamics, since the city’s infrastructure does not grow as its
population grows; to conclude, certain processes that the city can adopt to be more competitive and sustainable
are facilitated.
