The following research work had as a fundamental purpose to carry out a design of a
proposal with the purpose of optimizing the control of the budget execution of the Mayor's
Office of San José de Cúcuta, this being a contribution of great importance for the mentioned
mayor's office, since for Through this, a greater efficiency of the resources allocated through the
public budget can be achieved. It is necessary to mention that within the methodological
strategies used is, that it was carried out under a quantitative approach, where the inductive
method was assumed, which was selected because it is considered highly supportive that allows
achieving the objectives that have been established, using the design of a descriptive and
documentary type, where the collection of information was taken directly from the target
population of the study. As results of the investigation, it was possible to show that it is
necessary that the people who work in the Mayor's Office, specifically in the budget area,
cautiously apply each of the criteria established in accordance with the law, in order to optimize
budget execution. , where the resources can cover larger internal projects, obtaining as a
conclusion that the budget is one of the fundamental factors within the public administration,
because through this the State is requested the resources required to carry out the municipal
administration, for For this reason, at the time of making the budget estimate, each of the
parameters established by law must be adequately applied, specifically in article 119 of
agreement 042 of 2016.
