VRFT as a data-driven control technique

In this paper the Virtual Reference Feedback Tuning (VRFT) technique for calculation of control parameters on systems of unknown model is addressed. The conceptual base of the VRFT technique is revisited and then applied to regulate the dynamics of an electrical power generation unit composed of a self-excited induction machine. Numerical simulations performed on the electrical generator subjected to disturbances in the load and input power, allowed to verify a successful dynamical behavior for the controlled loop calculated with only input/output data sets.
