Content validation of communication board in the hospital context
Validación de un tablero de comunicación en el contexto hospitalario
Main Article Content
introduction: validate by experts the content of the communication board proposal, which seeks to supply the communication of human needs according to virginia henderson's theory in the hospital environment. Methods: a quantitative descriptive study, with a sample taken at the discretion of 6 professional and technical validators in the health area, the percentage of agreement and content validity index of each communicative intention proposed for the 14 basic needs is obtained. Results: the communicative intentions proposed within each need, for the most part, meet all the criteria to be applied through a board in the hospital context; after the validation process, it is evident that more than 50% of the communicative intentions were included in all basic needs. Analysis and discussion: communication, as a key element in providing high-quality healthcare services, leads to patient satisfaction and health; Virginia Henderson's model is designed to meet the basic or human needs of people with variable health conditions, it is applied to provide humanized care, where communication is a key factor when providing quality care. Conclusion: the communication board is valid in its content for application in a hospital population with difficulty in oral expression and other pathologies that limit communication, as it is an augmentative and alternative tool to meet the communication of the 14 basic needs and improve patient relationship and safety with health personnel, which in turn influences recovery, hospital stay and humanization in care.
